10 tips for correctly applying NOOVES gel nail wraps

Do your gel nail wraps not last as long as you expected? Do they peel off too soon, not adhere well, or look different from the photos? Don't worry: often, it's not the product's fault, but rather small errors during application. But the good news is that they can be fixed.
In this article, we share the 10 most important tips for correctly applying your gel nail wraps to achieve a long-lasting, shiny, and professional manicure at home. Let's get started!
1. Prepare your nails well before starting
One of the most common mistakes is not properly preparing the nail surface. Cleaning and removing natural grease are essential for the wraps to adhere well.
Tip: Wash your hands, remove any previous polish, and use a Nail dehydrator like the NOOVES Dehydrator to leave the nail free of residue. If you have very oily nails, add a primer before applying the wrap.
2. Push back cuticles (don't cut them!)
A wrap that touches the cuticle will lift much sooner. Use an orange stick or Cuticle Remover to gently push them back and clear the application area.
PRO Tip: If it's your first time, take your time. A clear cuticle area makes all the difference.
3. Gently buff the surface
Use a 180/200 grit buffer to very lightly buff the natural nail. This doesn't damage it; on the contrary, it improves the wrap's adherence. Do not use very aggressive files.
This step is especially important if your nails are very smooth or very oily.
4. Choose the correct wrap size
The wrap should fit the width of your nail without touching the skin. If in doubt between two sizes, choose the smaller one and stretch it slightly with your fingers to adapt it.
It should not touch the skin or the cuticle. This will make it last much longer.
5. Warm the wrap slightly before placing it
If it's cold or the wraps are stiff, rub them between your hands or warm them with a hairdryer (inside the packet) for a few seconds. This makes them more flexible and easier to adapt to your nail.
6. Apply pressure from the center to the edges
Once the wrap is in place, press from the center outwards with your finger or a silicone tool. This will prevent bubbles or creases. Do not pull the wrap; press it gently.
7. Apply a good coat of UV Top Coat
This step is key. The UV Top Coat seals the wrap, gives it shine, and protects it from water and friction. Don't forget to apply it also to the free edge of the nail to completely seal it.
Extra tip: Apply two thin coats instead of one thick one, curing between each.
8. Cure under the lamp for long enough
Use a UV lamp of at least 8W and cure for 60 seconds for each coat of Top Coat. Don't rush. If you use a more powerful lamp, you can reduce the time, but make sure everything is well cured.
9. Avoid getting your hands wet immediately afterward
Don't wash your hands, do dishes, or shower immediately after finishing. Wait at least 2-3 hours for everything to set and adhere properly.
10. Practice, improve, and don't give up
