Bordeaux and chocolate: the autumn palette you can wear now

This year, burgundy is deeper, almost dark wine, and chocolate doesn't have to wait until October. NOOVES' 7 designs to ease into the autumn palette.
September's nude has served its purpose, but as soon as it truly gets cold, it falls short. It's not that it's bad, it just doesn't match the clothes you're starting to pull out of your closet anymore.
The common mistake is to go straight to plain black, which quickly gets tiresome in a manicure because it lacks nuance and depth. Burgundy and chocolate serve the same function of a "serious color" but with much more character.
The other option is to wait until October to change, and miss out on three weeks of a color that, this year, is also the one beauty magazines feature the most.
Why this year's burgundy is different
Burgundy is not new, but this season it's deeper than in other years: less table red wine, more dark wine or black cherry. The difference is especially noticeable under artificial light, where a light burgundy looks dull and a deep one maintains its color.
Chocolate follows the same logic of depth, and acts as a bridge between the nude you've been wearing until now and the black that might still feel too much. Cocoa Milk and Terra are just that: a milk chocolate and a more earthy one to enter the brown palette without jumping directly to the dark extreme.
And textured finishes, like Mystic Marble's cat eye or Dark Heart's graphic glitter, are what keep a palette of just three or four shades from becoming monotonous after three weeks of wear.
1. Pearly burgundy: the dominant shade this season
This year's burgundy is not the usual red wine; it's deeper, almost black cherry, with a pearly touch that prevents it from looking flat under office light.
2. Black with metallic: the base that holds up for any event
A black that isn't flat, with a subtle metallic shimmer that catches the light without becoming glittery. It works equally well for a business lunch or a dinner that extends late.
3. Earthy brown: the gateway to chocolate
A warm brown, more brick than coffee, which we already saw in the August transition and is now fully integrated into the autumn palette without a hitch.
4. Milk chocolate: the brown that doesn't feel heavy
A lighter, creamier chocolate than Terra, designed for those who want to enter the brown palette without the intensity of a very dark shade.
5. Black with glitter: the party touch of the dark palette
Black base with fine glitter that lights up with artificial light. This is the design you save for when your week's plans include something special.
6. Dark graphic glitter: when you want something no one else has
A design with graphic texture on a dark base, created for those who have mastered solid colors and want a touch more personality in their manicure.
7. Metallic cat eye: the finish that completes the palette
The cat-eye effect on a dark base creates a play of light that changes with the angle of your hand, the perfect finish for a palette that already features three solid shades.
How to apply (three steps, fifteen minutes)
1. Prepare. Clean your nail and push back the cuticle with the orange stick included in the box.
2. Apply and trim. Choose a strip that is slightly smaller than your nail, place it without touching the cuticle, press the edges, and trim any excess.
3. Cure. Sixty seconds under a UV/LED lamp and it's hard. For extra shine, apply a top coat and cure for another sixty seconds.

VIEW THE SAVINGS PACKFrequently asked questions
Is this year's burgundy different from other seasons?
Yes, it's deeper, closer to dark wine or black cherry, instead of the lighter red wine of other seasons.
Can I go directly from nude to burgundy without going through brown?
You can, but Cocoa Milk and Terra work as a smoother transition if the jump seems too abrupt.
How long do NOOVES semi-cured gel strips last?
Between 2 and 3 weeks. They are applied in 15 minutes at home and cured with a UV/LED lamp in 60 seconds. They are HEMA-Free.
Do cat eye finishes require special care?
No, they are applied and removed the same way as the rest. The cat eye effect is already integrated into the strip.
Where to start if you only choose one
If you've never worn such a deep color, start with Cocoa Milk: it's the softest of the seven and serves as a real transition from nude. If you're already comfortable with dark tones, Ruby Claret is the burgundy of the year, hands down. And if you want something no one else in your circle has, Mystic Marble with its cat eye effect is the less obvious choice.
And if you're going to make more than one change before November arrives, the Savings Pack is still the most sensible option: four designs at 15% off costs less than a single salon session.
